You’ll have two chances to party down in Austin with Saucony Originals at the SXSW Music Festival. Of course your chances increase if you have the ability to be in two places at once, because both these excellent parties are happening the afternoon of Thursday, March 18th!

Get ready to see No Age at the Death+Taxes Magazine “Perfect Pairs” party in Austin, brought to you by Saucony O’s. Prepare yourself by watching this stop motion video for “Losing Feeling” starring mice in your shoes.
The best part of SXSW — besides the free beer and BBQ, the warm sun, the cute hipsters, the rock n roll celeb sightings, the secret Beastie Boys concerts, and oh so much that makes SXSW rule — is checking out emerging talent. One of the up and coming bands we’re looking forward to seeing in Austin is LA’s Best Coast.
Best Coast is one of the duos playing our “Perfect Pairs” party with Death+Taxes Magazine. Singer/songwriter/multi-instrumentalist Bethany Consentino and bass player Bobb Bruno have been feverishly recording and touring throughout 2009 and are prepping for a full-length album release later this year.
So far, Best Coast’s releases have been a string of 7″ vinyl singles which have that innate, fuzzy, ’60s pop quality that is a natural fit to Best Coast’s low-fi pop tunes. Listen to songs like the sweet “When I’m With You” or the appropriately sunny “Sun Was High (So Was I)” on Best Coast’s MySpace page, or just come see for yourself with Saucony O’s at SXSW!
We’re super psyched to see Liars headline the Insound SXSW party, especially after seeing this intense and way spooky new video for their song “Scissor.” Do not watch if you are already afraid of boating or don’t wish to be.

Proceeds will benefit Saucony’s Run for Good Foundation, a non-profit organization committed to combating childhood obesity.
Shoe stampers include Yo La Tengo, The Walkmen, The National, Jesus Lizard, Pains of Being Pure at Heart, M83, Frightened Rabbit, Pharoahe Monch, Killer Whales, and a slew of who’s who artists on the indie music stage. Signatures were collected on a size 15 Saucony Originals Jazz sneaker this past summer while Saucony Originals was helping Pitchfork Music Festival revelers set any world record they wanted with the Universal Record Database.
