This week hailed as the best all around weekend ever.
It may not have been the single best dodgeball Sunday ever at the pool but, it also may have been (it was certainly in the top 3).
The reason I can’t say for sure- Matt & Kim had an amazing performace.
This was my favorite act ever at the Jelly NYC Pool Parties and that is saying something considering the competition.
But there are many weeks left- this week The JellyNYC Pool Parties with the Liars, Fuck Buttons and Team Robespierre - Sun Jul 20, 2008
Be there.

Sunday, July 13
SECRET GUEST = THE BREEDERS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Dood, if Matt + Kim aren’t the headliners, you know this “secret guest” is too awesome to even speak his/her name. Sort of like the really good equivalent of Voldemort from Harry Potter.
Anyway, it’s the middle of July and if you doubt the awesomeness of this Sunday’s free show, you’re probably suffering from heat induced delusions.
Oh, and of course by now you know why Saucony will be there (besides it being free and awesome and stuff)– TO PLAY DODGEBALL!
So be sure to come down early and sign up to play! Top players will receive Free Saucony Jazz Originals!
WE WOULD NOT LIE TO YOU ABOUT SOMETHING AS IMPORTANT AS FREE SHOES!
Games start at 2:00 pm.

Looking at the lineup for this year’s Pitchfork Festival in Chicago, you definitely won’t be bored.
However, you WILL be shuffleboard!

Haha! Get it? You did? And it wasn’t that funny? Oh…
Well, funny or not, we’ll be on hand on July 18, 19 and 20 with our SHUFFLEBOARD BOARD in hand.

If you win (a few games) we’ll give you free Saucony Originals!
But win or lose, we’ll give you joy. Unless you get really upset by losing at shuffleboard, in which case, um… how about a squirtgun or headband?

I don’t know how she did it, but Ronnie Spector managed to perform a breathtaking set AND completely dominate at Dodgeball.
Seriously.
Okay, maybe that didn’t really happen, but it does give you some idea about the unfathomable, multi-faceted radness experienced by those at the McCarren Pool Party last Sunday.
I don’t know if you know this, but Ronnie Spector was basically the ideal soundtrack to the most ideal afternoon at the most ideal empty 10,000 person swimming pool. It wasn’t some “oh let’s go see her for nostalgia” or “all the half-assed ALT bands I listen to worship her” sort of thing. No. Her performance was flat out amazing in its own right– totally like, music every human on earth would enjoy getting sunburned too.
Oh, and it was overcast, so the day was perfect. I just wish North and South Korea were there, because i’m pretty sure they would have been all, “dood… this is fun! we should hang out more!”
That being said, we weren’t there JUST to bask in Ronnie’s well-deserved legend, we were there to play Dodgeball.
Shirtless Tom recapped the day’s action yesterday, but IF YOU HAVEN’T PLAYED DODGEBALL YET, WE’LL BE AT THE MCCARREN POOL EVERY SUNDAY THIS SUMMER.

It’s free, it’s fun and you can even win a free pair of Saucony Originals (like the ones on Shirtless Tom’s feet) just for playing well.
So be sure to come out next Sunday!

I was going to write something dirty but I will abstain.
My ankle is marginally better, but should be fine by Sunday.
Turns out, after turning my ankle on Friday I tore a ligament.
But enough about that.
Thanks everyone who made it out yesterday for another great day.
My parents made their annual visit for the soul weekend.
Music was better than the week before, but can’t possibly compare with this week’s line up.
As I expected, things are getting better each week.
A lot of new faces this week, which is awesome, tell your friends.
Games ran smoothly. Only one warning for cheating, Phil all eyes are on you don’t f#ck up!
Paul Puppykat, you were the MVP times a million.
Ben, you are a gentleman and a scholar, not to mention the best assistant to the regional dodgeball manager ever.
Zachbot, you’re just fine baby, glad to see you made it out this week.
All girls game this week, with TWO installments next week.
Jelmer = Fat Jelmer = LVP
Maltman, I want to re-nickname you the red baron, but i think pain in the ass is more appropriate.
And that’s about all I got.
See you all this week. We got The Breeders and Matt+Kim and The Whip
