Saucony Originals is packing up headbands, knee socks, (of course) sneakers and heading to the West Coast for another crazy fun festival! We’ll be at Treasure Island Music Festival in October and we’re bringing along our buddies from URDB again! We had a blast in Chicago at Pitchfork want to see even crazier records attempted and broken in San Francisco. Below, to get your creative juices flowing, we’ve listed out 24 records in which the holder of the world record at the end of the weekend will receive a pair of Saucony Originals. We’ll also be keeping track of super fun, original and creative records that you come up with to reward with a new pair of kicks.
More fun events and things to do during and around the festival coming up! Check back to find out how to score some free shoes and maybe do some good in this world!

Little known outside of Sweden, Kubb is an ancient Viking game (so we’re told) where opposing teams throw sticks in an attempt to knock over blocks of wood lined up in front of the other team. At its core it’s not a vastly different game than horseshoes or lawn darts, but it’s made more fun by the fact that you get to throw sticks at your friends.
Next week our Chicago and Seattle teams get to try their hand at this ancient sport. Monday night Chicago’s teams face off in Humboldt Park and Wednesday Seattle’s teams battle under the Space Needle.

Another post with a picture of a group of people- yes! It is about Pitchfork!
There’s more awesomeness that we need to let you know about.
We have two group records that we’re going to attempt to set at the Saucony Originals tent. Both ensure chaos, hilarity & tons of picture taking.
Saturday’s Challenge: Largest Group to Sing “Saturday in the Park” by Chicago.
• Pitchfork attendees are welcome to stop by the tent anytime to pick up a lyric sheet; the song begins at 4pm. ***RSVP to sauconyoriginals@drillteammarketing.com to sign up.
Sunday’s Challenge: Most people with shoelaces tied together.
• Festival goers should stop by the tent at 4pm on Sunday to join in! We’ll have extra shoelaces onsite in case people wore flip-flops (although, gross.)
The next thing we’re up to is festival performers such as The Antlers, The Thermals, The Jesus Lizard and more have signed up to autograph a pair Saucony Originals for charity. The shoe will be auctioned of on eBay with all proceeds going to Saucony’s partner charity, Run for Good, which works to prevent childhood obesity through education about exercise and healthy eating. You can find out more about the charity on www.runforgood.com.
We’ll definitely have more info for you post festival with a complete list of bands that signed the shoe & when the auction starts.

Universal Record Database- the guys we’re teaming up with at Pitchfork- were on Jimmy Fallon this past Friday. It was hysterical!
They helped Cameron Diaz set a pretty amazing record- Most Bunnies Snuggled While in a Hammock. Although I assume we’ll never know what happened to the two bunnies that would’ve made it 50 as opposed to the recorded 48, we love the creativity of this record.
Check out the show on Hulu here.
We’re taking a couple points away from Fallon whose weak attempt at Most Mustaches Drawn on Strangers in Thirty Seconds can be easily crushed. We invite everyone to come to our area at Pitchfork where URDB will be set up to help you break records all weekend long. We know you can draw more than 14 mustaches in 30 seconds, so come out & show Fallon what’s up!!
Also, stick around to the end of the show to watch Grizzly Bear perform Cheerleader- awesome.

As promised, we’ve got a full schedule of unique games lined up for this weekend’s Come Out and Play festival in NYC. Saucony Originals will be hanging out at the festival HQ and at Central Park while the citizens turn NYC into a gigantic playground with new types of street games and public play. Here’s where to find us!
Friday: Opening Ceremony at The Tank (354 W. 45th St) 7pm - The fun starts with Hijack the Band, an interactive cell phone game played with a live rock band.
Saturday afternoon: Art-sport games in Central Park’s Heckscher Fields (near 65th St & Central Park West entrance) - Come play A Day in the Park (starting at 12pm), Outdoor Cham Ball (1-4pm), the backyard game of the future Jamson (3-5pm), Circle Rules Football (4pm) — which includes a halftime show! — and Picky Sticky Pollen (5pm).
Saturday evening: Players Party at The Tank - The Come Out & Play player party will feature more games, a comedy performance, a DJ, a raffle for awesome prizes, and beer. The party starts at 8pm, or show up at 7pm for a real life version of the classic Atari game Pitfall. Not sure yet if there will be live alligators…
Sunday: More games at Pier 84 (44th Street and 12th Av) - Enjoy more playfulness with games including FastFoot-Challenge, a GPS multiplayer game. Then it’s back to The Tank for the COaP 2009 Awards Ceremony at 3:30pm. Saucony Originals will be awarding a prize to the “Most Original” game created!
Throughout the festival, the Saucony Originals crew will be on hand with giveaways and prizes for the game winners. And, all the games are free to play! Check out the full festival schedule here for even more ways to take over the city with games this weekend.
