We’re reporting live from the Pitchfork Music Festival in Chicago where, along to the sounds of excellent indie bands from Built to Spill to Frightened Rabbit to The Black Lips, Saucony Originals is setting world records with the Universal Record Database.  Day one saw some daring record setters taking on challenges like “most temporary tattoos worn at one time” and “most kick drum hits in ten seconds.”  We’re still waiting for someone to set the bar for “fastest time to shave one’s mustache” - c’mon!

Meanwhile backstage we have bands signing a shoe for a charity auction to benefit Saucony’s Run for Good Project to promote healthy lifestyles to kids. Big thanks so far to Yo La Tengo and the Jesus Lizard for adding their signatures to our sneakers.

We’re excited today to check out The Antlers, Beirut, Cymbals Eat Guitars and to see our pals The Pains of Being Pure at Heart.  Bowerbirds also play today and will attempt to set the record for “largest average head size in a band with a female member.” Think they can do it?
