We’ve hinted at the fact that we were doing something outstanding at Pitchfork, but we weren’t sure if you were ready for it. Now that we’ve changed months & summer weather is finally here, we think it’s time to you let you in on the grandness we’ve been scheming over here.

Office Teams: Not In A Lame Way…

by kip - 04/10/08

Kickball is more fun than Powerpoint

Do you want to hear the word “office” and “team” mentioned in the same sentence without cringing?

So do we!

This summer in New York, Chicago, San Francisco and Seattle, Saucony is going to sponsor some select offices to compete against other offices in sports that you may not have played since you were about 12.

Dodgeball? Kickball? Four Square? FOR REAL!

We’ll provide the equipment, uniforms and, of course, some sweet Saucony Jazz Originals. Win or lose, we’ll hook everyone up with plenty of free suds at the local watering hole (clarification: water = booze, hole = your mouth), where you can re-live your sporting glory, or drown those memories of athletic incompetence.

If you’re reading this right now and want your office to get involved, let us know! You’ll have to meet the following criteria:

1) Have at least 10 members of your office (if you’re short and want to bring a couple significant others along, that’s cool). Also, there has to be a balance of men & women (no ore than 70% of one gender).

2) Have one designated captain who will be responsible for blogging each event at “teamsaucony-originals.com” (we’ll show you how to login, upload photos, etc). This person will also submit uniform/shoe sizes for all members and be the point-of-contact.

3) Be available to commit to a one hour long match every 2 – 4 weeks after work. During June, July and August

We’ll set these matches up with rival companies in your area and, at the end of the Summer, the two most triumphant teams in your city will compete in a championship game with killer live bands (not “The Killers”) and other party essentials.

This is a pilot program and and even if we don’t select your office this year, we’re hoping to expand the program in the future. So let us know if your company seems like the kind of place that would be really interested in kicking back this summer and having some fun.

So get back to us asap if you’re down.
