Last week Shoebizzle was unable to fend off Sonicbids during a rousing game of Spud.  Down, but not out, we vowed that next week would be different.  Different it was.

As the sun set over Boston Common Shoebuy helped set up the ladder golf set and took a few minutes to practice our skillz.

Try as they may Mimoco couldn’t compete with the raw ladder golf power coursing through our veins.

 As they say, the rest is history, and redemption was indeed ours.

Except we lost…

We should have known when the fog rolled in at 5 PM that the stars were not aligning in our favor but we put up a fight anyhow.

Despite our best efforts Shoebizzle was  not meant to win spud this Tuesday on the Common.  Our SPUD sign (and cheerleader) arrived just a few moments after our fate was sealed.  Regardless a good time was had by all and my Sauconys finally picked up some grass stains from the action.

Afterward were able to drown our sorrows in some tasty apps and brews at McGreevy’s which mercifully had 100% more A/C than last week.  A cold one in a cold bar? Sign us up.

Next week: redemption.

Shoebizzle was excited to not only have a day we could play (no rain!) but the first game on our home turf at Boston Common.

Our first foray on the field went to Schwartz PR but the next two were close and in the end went to Shoebizzle.

Who knew that steal the bacon was going to be such a workout? Regardless, the bacon it was stolen and it was beautiful. Speaking of bacon this little piggy has been busy.

After dining and drinking the night away we put him right to work the following morning. We think he’ll make a great addition to our team.

FINALLY decent weather in the Boston area. By decent I mean sticky and a little gross but NOT raining for a change so good enough for some wiffle ball action. So off we went on the MBTA to the strange land known as Allston. Ringer park is a strange place. Having never been there Shoebuy entered the park through a super stabbity path and went on…a hike. WTF?

Seriously. After climbing Mount Shady we emerged unstabbed and found the baseball field…and the paved entry path. Oops. Little did we know this would be the extent of our exertion for the evening.

Team Shoebizzle was wicked prepared to take on Mimobot in a rousing game of Wiffle ball. We bought our own equipment and took the field at Boston Common for practice, thanks to the rain-out last week we even had an extra week to do so. Clearly the word got out since Mimobot was a no-show. Scurred? Probably. We’ll take the win by forfeit or by force though so thanks for allowing us to break a sweat only from the humidity. After watching Sonicbids take on Schwartz and cheer-jeering them on we decided it was time to head out and celebrate our hard fought victory off at Common Ground.

Since this is the most important part of the evening we were glad to find the bar well stocked with pitchers delicious food and good conversation. Not a bad way to wrap up the evening.

Now we’re looking forward to a little bacon stealing on our home turf, see you Tuesday.

Ah summer in Boston: the Sox, the Public Garden, the 60 degree temps, near constant gloom and rain…er…what? Yeah, summer so far this year has been a bust and so it goes that round one of the Team Saucony Originals game was rained out. There was to be no bacon theft this Tuesday instead there was Stump! trivia and most importantly, beer.

Though much thought (and don’t forget beer) was put in to our answers (we even did well on this rando puppet question!) the glory was not to be ours.

Instead we lost out the to The Neverland Ranch-hands, AKA: Sonicbids. That’s ok though Shoebizzle is not out and we’ve stocked up on Wiffle ball sets for the next round and if we don’t injure ourselves I think the chances are good we’ll bring a little glory home.
