New York Magazine and Saucony Originals: Campfire on the Canal
by kipThere are a lot of good things about camping. Sitting around a fire, smores, singing songs, more smores, getting vaguely in touch with nature (except when nature is a mosquito)…
So we naturally jumped at the opportunity to be a part of New York Magazine’s “Campfire by the Canal” last Saturday. However, this camping experience was way better than the ones we remember growing up, as sweet Swede Jose Gonzales was singing to us, instead of our friend’s cousin trying to play “White Rabbit” for the third time in a row while completely wasted.
Oh, and just because New York Magazine was able to upgrade the entertainment (Upright Citizens Brigade’s embarrassing and hilarious stories sure beats “Truly Tasteless Jokes Vol. 3″), they still provided such classic camping experiences as Smores (yes, third mention!), beers-a-plenty and the closest thing to nature most of us will experience outside of walking past McCarren Park on the way to the subway.
And we just weren’t there to have a good time, mind you (though we did!). We actually hosted a horse shoes game, where the top players could win free Saucony Jazz Originals.
Thanks to everyone who came out!
